Description

I have made all of these recipes myself. I always try to show the original source of the recipe, but am constantly editing them to suit our tastes (so technically they should all say "Adapted from..."). The portions are generally small since my family doesn't consume much food in one sitting.

When searching in the categories below, don't forget to click on "older posts" at the bottom right of the screen after scrolling through them to see more recipes in that category.

*I have recently added a $ label to show that I've calculated the price of the recipe. All prices include 3% food tax.*

Mrs. Field’s Cookies

$4.50 with 3% tax; $0.09 per cookie, $1.12 per dozen

1 c salted butter (if unsalted, add 1 tsp salt)
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2½ c oatmeal, blended
1¾ c flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp soda
12 oz (2 c) blended chocolate/peanut butter/mint chips

Cream together butter and sugars. Mix in remaining ingredients, adding chocolate chips last. Scoop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Slightly depress with cookie scooper. Bake 8-10 min. at 350°. They are better under-baked than over-baked. Take them out before they have brown edges and start cracking; best when puffy.

*For St. Patrick's Day, I used 1 cup milk chocolate chips and 1 cup mint chips. Yuuuuuumy!
