Description

I have made all of these recipes myself. I always try to show the original source of the recipe, but am constantly editing them to suit our tastes (so technically they should all say "Adapted from..."). The portions are generally small since my family doesn't consume much food in one sitting.

When searching in the categories below, don't forget to click on "older posts" at the bottom right of the screen after scrolling through them to see more recipes in that category.

*I have recently added a $ label to show that I've calculated the price of the recipe. All prices include 3% food tax.*

Flag Jello

6-oz box of Berry Blue Jello

6-oz box of Strawberry Jello

2 c sour cream (1½ lb)

Cool whip

Strawberries, rinsed and cored

Blueberries, rinsed

Combine blue box of Jello with 2½ cups boiling water. Divide this mixture in half (1½ c each). To the first half, add 2/3 cup sour cream and stir until smooth. Use wire whisk to add sour cream. Don't make it too foamy. Pour into a 9x13 pan and pop any bubbles before putting it into the fridge. Refrigerate 60-90 min. To the second half of the mixture, add 6 Tbsp of cold water. Carefully spoon onto first layer. Chill 60-90 min. Repeat with the red Jello. Be careful as you pour on each layer. Make sure your fridge is level or make it level under the dish using paper. Cover with whipped topping. Slice strawberries and arrange fruit in a flag shape.
