Description

I have made all of these recipes myself. I always try to show the original source of the recipe, but am constantly editing them to suit our tastes (so technically they should all say "Adapted from..."). The portions are generally small since my family doesn't consume much food in one sitting.

When searching in the categories below, don't forget to click on "older posts" at the bottom right of the screen after scrolling through them to see more recipes in that category.

*I have recently added a $ label to show that I've calculated the price of the recipe. All prices include 3% food tax.*

Cheesy Bread Sticks (Holley Crowther)

1 hour. Updated 6/17/13.

The picture of this recipe (in the 8x8 pan) is halved, but I've been using the full recipe again and have that listed below.

1½ c water
1 Tbsp yeast
2 Tbsp sugar
½ tsp salt
3 c flour (used ¼ c white wheat flour - ok)
4 Tbsp butter, divided
Parmesan
Garlic salt

Mix first five ingredients together and knead for 3 min. Let rise for 30 min. Put melted butter in a 9x13 pan. Roll dough on floured surface into a rectangle ~½” thick, then cut into strips. Place strips in pan turning to coat. Sprinkle Parmesan and garlic salt on top. Bake at 375° for 15 min until brown. Cover top with aluminum foil and bake 5 min more.

For Valentine's Day, use these instructions:

Mix first five ingredients together and knead for 3 min. Let rise for 30 min. Put 2 Tbsp butter on a cookie sheet. Heat in oven until butter melts and tilt pan until completely coated. Repeat with a second pan. Roll out dough into rectangle ~½” thick, then cut into 10-12 strips. Place one strip on cookie sheet, turning to coat. Shape into a heart. Repeat with remaining strips. Sprinkle Parmesan and garlic salt on top. Bake at 375° for 12 min until brown. Cover top with aluminum foil and bake 3 min more or until baked through.

  1. I made these tonight. Everyone, including our neighbors that we had dinner with (and their two kids), LOVED them. Thanks again for another great recipe.
